Each year Ricardo stages a charity tournament in Argentina. In 2011 the tournament was played on 11 and 12 November. This is the seventh consecutive year in the history of the tournament, which started in 2005 with 30 players participating. This year 280 players took part and the event was held at four golf clubs: Namuncura Golf and Polo Clob, Trenque Lauquen Golf and Polo Club, Trisquelia Golf Club and Pehuajo Golf Club.
A total of €45,000 was raised and the proceeds will be shared between 8 Argentinian charities supporting the under privileged and those suffering with cancer. Fellow golfers from the European Tour very kindly gave golf bags to be auctioned and the Tour Players foundation generously donated a print of the 2010 Ryder Cup signed by European Captain Colin Montgomerie and a Ryder Cup flag signed by Colin Montgomerie and the US Captain Corey Pavin. |
